Terms of use
The following terms of use apply to the use of the Moodle instance of Legal History Courses. Access to and (further) use of Moodle will only be granted if you accept these terms of use by selecting the appropriate consent field.
Personal information
For our courses, manual registration is possible since the courses might be offered to a closed group. To be manually registered, you will be provided with a registration link for a specific course through which your first name, last name and email address are collected. This information is mandatory, as you will use your name to enrol in courses, make appointments, write forum posts, submit online assignments, take tests or perform other online activities. Once you register via a registration link, you will be provided with a username and a password. You should change your password upon your first log in.
Property rights
Please note that the information, texts, software, images, videos, graphics, sound and other materials contained in the learning management system are generally protected by copyright, trademark or patent rights.
Use of information
The access and usage rights granted to you on the learning management system are non-transferable and are only available to you. You are entitled to use the information available on the learning platform to the extent offered for private, non-commercial purposes, in particular to read, download or print it. The information stored in Moodle may not be used for any other purpose. In particular, the information may not be passed on to third parties, published or made available to third parties or the public in any other form. The information may therefore not be used in external postings to newsgroups, mailing lists, electronic bulletin boards, etc., unless this is expressly permitted in individual cases. In relation to the texts and videos embedded to the platform, copyrights of the external website are deemed to be accepted. If there is a Youtube video embedded but it is ‘unlisted’ on Youtube, this means that the video is exclusive for the participants of the course and cannot be used or shared.

Rules of conduct
You may not post any content on the learning platform that violates legal provisions or is pornographic, obscene, defamatory, libellous, offensive, threatening, inflammatory or racist. It is also prohibited to post advertising of any kind, to use the learning platform for commercial purposes or to transmit information that contains viruses, errors, manipulations or similar harmful elements.
Location and amendment of these terms of use
The terms of use can be viewed under ‘Terms of use’ on the home page of the learning platform. Legal History Courses is entitled to change the terms of use at any time. After each change to the terms of use, each user will be automatically asked to expressly agree to the changed terms by selecting the appropriate checkbox. If the user does not agree to the changed terms of use, the user's account and/or the content they have posted will be deactivated.
Registration and access ID
By using the learning management system under these terms and conditions, you warrant that you will not disclose your ID and password to anyone.
You acknowledge that
you are responsible for all use of the learning platform offering using your ID and password,
you must ensure that your ID and password are protected from unauthorised use,
you are obliged to notify the administration immediately if you notice or suspect misuse of your access data.
Exclusion from use
Legal History Courses may temporarily block access to the learning platform in part or in full or permanently terminate your right of use (access with login ID and password) if the learning platform is used with your login ID and password, whether by you or a third party, in violation of these Terms of Use or in any other way to the detriment of Legal History Courses.
Warranty and product liability
The contents of the learning platform are provided on an ‘as is’ and ‘as available’ basis. No warranty is given.
You expressly agree that your use of the learning platform and its contents is at your own risk. Legal History Courses does not guarantee that the program functions will meet the requirements of users or work together in the manner intended by users. Neither Legal History Courses nor the manufacturers or developers are liable for any damage arising from the use of the learning platform or its contents.
Declaration
I have read and understood the terms of use and the instructions and information on data processing in Moodle. I accept these as terms of use.
I am aware that some personal information is required to participate in Moodle and that Moodle may be used in teaching and examination events. In addition, I agree to the processing of the additional data stored in my ‘personal profile’ and of the contributions I publish under my name, as well as to the use of the files I make available in Moodle courses. I am aware that I can revoke this consent at any time by sending an email to the Legal History Courses team.
